Great College Lifestyle and Things Every College Girl Should Know

Starting college can be very exciting and scary at the same time. Of course, great preparation and organization allow you to have both the time of your life as well as study properly for your future. But, it’s always helpful to learn some tips beforehand so that you can start working towards improving your college lifestyle as soon as possible.

1. Save money wherever you can

This is a very important tip for future college students, and especially girls who generally tend to need more stuff in their daily routine. For instance, make sure to find skincare and makeup products that suit you very well so that you can invest your money in those products and use them up completely before needing to purchase again. When it comes to clothes, a timeless wardrobe is always a good solution. But if you have your own unique style, always check your local thrift stores for some great and affordable finds.

Moreover, everybody knows that coffee is a must on college. So, instead of spending money on coffee every morning at Starbucks and other stores, make your own and bring it with you. You’d be surprised at how much money you can save by doing this, not just for coffee, but tea, quick sandwiches and similar snacks/beverages as well.

 

2. Organize your room properly

Soon you’ll realize that your personal space doesn’t clean itself. In that respect, you’ll also notice that you don’t really need too much stuff in order to look and feel great. So, always think about your room and belongings with a declutter mindset. This will help you with further organization. Try your best to always keep your clothes organized. This also goes for your desk/study area. With cheap decorative containers you can find at dollar stores and similar, you can easily organize your study essentials and other bits and bobs you find necessary.

A room that’s tidy, organized and clutter-free helps you relieve stress and improves your mood and concentration. Moreover, it will allow you to invite over whomever you want whenever you want.

3. Day planner to the rescue

College is about studying and enjoying life to the fullest. Essentially, the best way to lead a great college lifestyle is to balance these two aspects as effectively as possible. Having a day planner can help you with that. You can even install an app for this on your phone. In general, try to plan your week in advance and write lists.

You can have as many sub-lists as you want in order to make specific tasks easier for yourself. This can be especially helpful when you’re studying. But, keeping track of all your responsibilities, fun activities and free time will allow you to make the most out of your college days and reduce stress.

4. Make studying efficient

When it’s time for your study sessions, do your best to minimize the distractions. Turn off or at least mute your phone and log out of your social media accounts. When you’re at college, it can be very tempting to just drop everything and go have fun when called. But there will always be time for fun if you just get the studying done and out of the way.

Remember, there’s no need to be perfect. You are doing this for you, so don’t beat yourself up over grades or the fact that some subjects are not your favorite. 5. Exercise regularly

However, regular physical activity will help you look and feel good, which is obviously very important for your happiness and self-esteem, but that’s not all. Exercise will also help you concentrate better on your studies as it clears the head, increases energy and boosts brain power. Therefore, add exercising, be it home workouts, gym, walking or something else, to your planner, and commit to it at least three times a week.

College can be a great time in your life if you just believe in yourself and accept the fact that balancing the two opposites – fun and studying – is to be expected. Use this opportunity to make new friends but never open up to anyone too quickly. Give your relationships some time to flourish.
